Mountain Climbers – Revisiting a swiss icon

Rarely do you stumble upon such a fabulous project, rarely do you encounter such a funky, hard working trio of upcoming designers-architects-curators…

All in one meet “Mountain Climbers” and the brains behind this event: Ines Flammarion, Albert Schrurs and Nicolas Bernheim.

These fabulous entrepreneurs did not just want to sit around and wait for things to happen, they just put their common energy together and decide to make one hell of a project: mountain climbers. 40 vintage cable cars from Verbier that were going to be sold and probably abandoned forever, 40 very relevant visions of 40 famous or/and upcoming Swiss artists (architects, painters, industrial designers…) such as, to only mention a few: Rold Sachs, Alexis Georgacopoulos, Buchner & Bründler, Delphine Frey (love her work), Martino d’Eposito & Alexandre Gaillard, Philippe Cramer etc … 1 travelling exhibition around Switzerland in 2014, starting during Art Basel/Design Miami week and ending with one important sale by CHRISTIE’S for a great cause: MAKE-A-WISH Switzerland!

Do you follow? Do you simply love it?

I can tell you I was blown away!! I should also mention that they had the kindness to show me almost all 40 projects (yes I know you will have to wait and find out) and I am in love!

So what can you do to be part of “revisiting a swiss icon”? Either if you have 5000 chf, become benefactor of one fabulous cable car and follow it around until the sale… want your name or your companies name all around Switzerland?? Not to make you stress out but almost all cable cars are assigned.
