Cramer versus Cramer

Philippe Cramer is a swiss and american designer. Although he was born in New-York and graduated from Parsons he grew up in Geneva and currently lives and works here.

He started his design company or should I say “laboratory” Cramer+Cramer in 2001 in Geneva and I remember him being featured that very same year in the wallpaper 01 in a great article called “Cramer versus Cramer” !!

I love when Swiss designers name their creations with cities and mountain ranges… Philippe Cramers oil lamps are called “Weisshorn”, the porcelain vase “Sils” and the Wardrobe “Rorschach” in honor to Swiss freudian psychiatrist Hermann Rorchach. And by the way I just love those 2011 Rorschach cabinets: butterfly looking prints and perfect places to hide any “secrets de famille”…

You can now shop all the flagship designs like the Randogne family of floor lamps

or the Baar stool

on his online shop or simply stop by the studio on 8 rue de la Muse in Geneva to see the classics and the new show Golden Landscapes:gold thread tapestries, hand embroidered views of Switzerland!

The show lasts from March 15th until May 1st
